Welcome back! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break!
On Tuesday, January 20th, the PTA will host a guest speaker at the general PTA meeting at 7pm in the Media Center. Margot Holloman, PhD will provide information on "How to get your child organized." She will discuss the most critical times of the day that your child needs to be organized; how to decide if your child needs help with organization and deciding which problem to tackle first; and how to use prompts and rewards effectively. Dr. Holloman is a Clinical Psychologist located in Apex, North Carolina. WCPSS offers Adult Evening Education opportunities in 2015. Visit the website for class details. Just a note from the Giving Garden to let you all know what my plans are! I will be hibernating (going to sleep for awhile) and plan to get up from my long nap around the middle to the end of March. The leaves on my beautiful fall vegetables have withered and the soil is cold, but don't think that I'm not up to something... "January is the quietest month in the garden. ... But just because it looks quiet doesn't mean that nothing is happening. The soil, open to the sky, absorbs the pure rainfall while microorganisms convert tilled-under fodder into usable nutrients for the next crop of plants. The feasting earthworms tunnel along, aerating the soil and preparing it to welcome the seeds and bare roots to come." - Rosalie Muller Wright, Editor of Sunset Magazine, 1/99 Maybe, if I'm lucky, I will even get a snow blanket! Until then, my garden parents are planning a rainbow of flowers and plants for me in 2015, until then... Peace and Sunshine, The Giving Garden!
